Angmering Neighbourhood Plan

Angmering Parish Council have prepared a Neighbourhood Development Plan for Angmering.  Further details of the neighbourhood plan preparation are available at the Angmering Parish Council website.

The Angmering NDP (Submission Plan incorporating the Examiner’s modifications and all modifications as per the Decision Statement) complies with the legal requirements and basic conditions set out in the Localism Act 2011 and as a result of the Arun District Council’s decision on 11 March 2015 and the   SDNPA Planning committee resolution on 12 March 2015 has been made.

The Angmering NDP is a part of the Development Plan of the SDNPA Local Planning Authority area as defined by the Neighbourhood Area Designation by the SDNPA on 14 March 2013.

The made Angmering NDP can be viewed at the following locations:

Referendum A referendum was held on the Angmering NDP on 22 January 2015. For more information on the referendum visit Arun District Council’s Referendum page.

There was a 31.3% turnout, with the following results

  • Yes = 96.9% (1678 votes)
  • No = 3.1% (53 votes)
Decision on the Plan proposal On 4 December 2014, Arun District Council agreed the Decision Statement for the Angmering NDP. This sets out the modifications that will be made to the plan in response to the Examiner’s modifications

The Angmering NDP has been modified accordingly and will proceed to referendum on 22 January 2015.

Independent Examination Arun District Council appointed Nigel McGurk as the independent Examiner of the Angmering NDP. The Examiner assessed whether the Angmering NDP meets certain legal requirements, known as the ‘basic conditions’ and considered representations made on the Angmering NDP.  The Examiner has now issued their final report, which Arun District Council will now consider and will issue a ‘Decision Statement’ in due course setting out the actions to be taken in response to the recommendations of the Examiner.

Publicising the Plan proposal Arun District Council published the submitted Angmering NDP for consultation from 10 September to 22 October 2014. The following documents were submitted for consultation

Pre-submission consultation on the plan Angmering Parish Council carried out their Pre Submission consultation on the Angmering Neighbourhood Development Plan (NDP) from 30 April 2014 to 11 June 2014

Designated Neighbourhood Area Following an application from Angmering Parish Council, the Angmering Neighbourhood Area was designated by Arun District Council on 10 December 2012 and by the SDNPA on 14 March 2013.
