Woodland exploration

Woodland exploration

Alice Holt Forest is a must see for lovers of trees and woodland.

This walk starts and finishes in Farnham, Surrey, just outside the boundaries of the National Park.

With your Discovery ticket, you’re free to explore everything the South Downs National Park area and beyond has to offer by bus.

After arriving at the Alice Holt bus stop, the Alice Holt Forest is only a 15 minute walk away. From here you can explore the start of the new 50 mile Shipwrights Way and look out for one of the stone sculptures which represent the history or wildlife of the place. Or try one of the many other forest trails. Have lunch at the Alice Holt Cafe or pack a picnic and choose your own perfect picnic stop.

If you’re feeling particularly adventurous, why not pay a visit to Go Ape the outdoor adventure park? There’s plenty of fun for the whole family to enjoy. From zip wires to tree top adventures, whatever you choose will certainly be a wild adventure.

End the day back at the Alice Holt bus stop and hop on a bus back to Farnham.
