Enforcement: report a breach
Please note if you live in Chichester, East Hants or Winchester, please use the below links to report it directly to their respective enforcement teams who will deal with the complaint:
Suspected planning breaches should be reported by email to the Enforcement Team – enforcement@southdowns.gov.uk
Please include:
- Subject of the complaint
Name of the owner, occupier or business along with any contact details (if known). - Site address
Full address of the land or property concerned, including postcode, grid reference or What3Words point. If it is in the open countryside, could a description be given to assist officers locating the site. - Description of the possible breach
A clear description of the alleged breach of planning control / what is happening. - Date the activity started (is it happening now / getting worse?)
Please provide an approximate date or timeframe. - Your details
Your name, postal address, telephone number and email address (this information assists officers if clarification is required). - Anonymity
Please be aware that anonymous reports will not usually be investigated unless they relate to a matter of public safety or, irreversible public harm. - Description of the harm being caused
Such as noise, traffic, damage etc. - Your evidence
Please submit your supporting information (photographs, videos, any other evidence) and how, when and by whom this evidence was obtained. - Any other details
Do you believe further protections are in place at the site (such as a listed building, Conservation Area, TPO etc).
Providing the above information will help us to triage and assess the enforcement complaint more efficiently.
As the planning authority for the National Park we expect land owners and developers to comply with planning laws and not carry out development without the necessary planning permission.
