Getting around: assisted travel in the South Downs

We’re working with travel partners to make the South Downs National Park fully accessible to all visitors.

Most bus operators within the South Downs National Park cater to wheelchair and pushchair users.

If visiting the National Park by train, both Petersfield and Lewes train stations have step-free access. 

You can find information about Assisted Travel from the below train companies:

National Rail produces an Access Map showing station facilities. 

To find accessible toilets in the National Park, you can use the Changing Places toilet map.
