This page sets out evidence that has been undertaken to inform the New South Downs Local Plan. This evidence will be updated as further information becomes available and as the New Local Plan progresses.

Regulatory Assessments

There is a legislative requirement to carry out the following Assessments of the New Local Plan:
- Integrated Impact Assessment (IIA) and Scoping Report
- Habitats Regulations Assessment (HRA)
- Sustainability Appraisal, incorporating Strategic Environmental Assessment (SA/SEA)
- Equalities Impact Assessment (EqIA)
In addition, a Health Impact Assessment (HIA) is also recommended under the East Sussex Health & Wellbeing Engagement Process & Protocol.

Transport

As part of the evidence base to support the new Local Plan a Transport Study has been undertaken.

This study considers the potential transport impacts of the new Local Plan development strategy and will identify the package of measures required to achieve the most sustainable outcomes.

Transport work for Shoreham Cement Works has been updated in the report below to take account of changing circumstances and Government policy since the last Transport Assessment of this site in 2022, and to test the development proposed in allocation policy SDA30 in the Proposed Submission Local Plan.
