Sustainable Construction Evidence Studies

Sustainable Construction Evidence Studies

The studies below provide the technical evidence that informs the Local Plan’s proposed approach to sustainable construction. Together, they support Policy SDN10 aimed at reducing both operational energy use and embodied carbon emissions from development within the National Park.

Operational energy refers to the energy used by a building once it is in use, as measured through its energy meters (for example, for heating, lighting and appliances).

Embodied carbon relates to the carbon emissions associated with the manufacture, transport, construction, maintenance and eventual disposal of building materials.
