Covid-19 Policy for Visitors to the South Downs Centre
We’re here to help you with any enquiries you have about the South Downs National Park and are jolly pleased to welcome you back after such a long time.
We’ve installed shields at our reception desk to keep you and our staff safe and are doing everything we can to ensure your visit is safe and pleasant.
Please do your bit to keep yourself and others safe by following the guidelines below, and treat staff and other visitors with respect.
Opening hours: We are open between 9.00 am and 4.00 pm, Monday to Friday and 9.00 am and 2.30 pm, Saturdays and Bank Holidays.
- Before you come in …
If you’ve had any signs or symptoms of Coronavirus over the last 14 days, or feel unwell, please stay at home. We can still help if you phone 01730 814810, or email email@example.com
- Please sanitise your hands, using the foot operated hand sanitising station.
- Visitor numbers: No more than 5 visitors are allowed into the Visitor Centre at one time. If there are 5 people in the Visitor Centre already, please wait outside, using the markings on the path outside the building to help you to adhere to social distancing requirements.
NHS Test and Trace: We are collecting visitor information for NHS Test and Trace – please see the receptionist on entering the South Downs Centre to provide relevant details.
Leaflets: Please do not touch leaflets unless you intend to take one.
Interpretation material / iPads: Please let us know when you’ve finished using any equipment so that we can clean it after you leave.
Retail: The products we have for sale are on display on the reception counter. If you see anything you’d like to buy, please note the number/s of the product/s and ask the reception team for them. Please note that we can only accept payment by card.
Toilets: There are no public toilets in this building. You’ll find the nearest ones across the road at North Street car park (behind the bus station).
Access to planning documents: Access to view planning consultation documents is available by appointment only. Please email details of what you would like to see to firstname.lastname@example.org, or phone 01730 814810, and someone will be in touch with you to make an appointment.
Dogs: With the exception of assistance dogs, dogs are not permitted to enter the building. However, they may use the water in the bowl that’s provided, which is just outside the door.
