Covid-19 Policy for Visitors to the South Downs Centre

Opening hours: We are open to visitors between 9.00 am and 4.00 pm, and the phones are live between 9.00am-4.30pm Monday to Thursday, 9.00am-4pm Fridays.  

We’re here to help you with any enquiries you have about the South Downs National Park and are jolly pleased to welcome you back after such a long time.

We’ve installed shields at our reception desk to keep you and our staff safe and are doing everything we can to ensure your visit is safe and pleasant.

Please do your bit to keep yourself and others safe by following the guidelines below, and treat staff and other visitors with respect.

Before you come in …

  • If you’ve had any signs or symptoms of Coronavirus over the last 14 days, or feel unwell, please stay at home. We can still help if you phone 01730 814810, or email info@southdowns.gov.uk.
  • Please sanitise your hands, using the foot operated hand sanitising station.
  • Whilst mask wearing will no longer be mandatory in indoor settings, we encourage people to wear them to keep us all safe
  • Visitor numbers: There are currently no restrictions on visitor numbers to the centre

Leaflets: Please do not touch leaflets unless you intend to take one.

Interpretation material: Please let us know when you’ve finished using any equipment so that we can clean it after you leave.

Retail: Please do not touch retail products unless you intend to buy.

Please note we can take both card or cash payments.

Toilets: Public toilets in the South Downs Centre are available for use.

Access to planning documents: Access to view planning consultation documents is available by appointment only. Please email details of what you would like to see to info@southdowns.gov.uk,  or phone 01730 814810, and someone will be in touch with you to make an appointment.

Dogs: With the exception of assistance dogs, dogs are not permitted to enter the building. However, they may use the water in the bowl that’s provided, which is just outside the door.
