The SDNPA is committed to supporting rural businesses within the National Park boundaries. It has a duty to foster the economic and social well-being of communities within the Park where this helps to support the conservation and enhancement of the area, or in delivering opportunities for understanding and enjoyment of the area. The rural businesses and communities are part of what makes the area special, from the traditional country pub to the annual village fair or one of the many visitor attractions within the area.

For businesses, the Collabor8 initiative helps support the economic sustainability and cultural identity of the area. By developing business partnerships that promote sustainable tourism to the South Downs, the environment impact of visitors can be reduced.

The Downs has been, and continues to be, shaped and nurtured by sound farming and conservation practice. You can support this essential work by choosing to buy locally produced food, drink or craft products. Look out for the South Downs brand logo and you can be sure that you’re purchasing quality products from the South Downs that help protect, conserve and enhance the landscape.
