Milland Neighbourhood Plan

Milland Parish Council are preparing a Neighbourhood Development Plan for Milland. Details of the neighbourhood preparation are available at the Milland Parish Council website

The Milland NDP (Submission Plan incorporating the Examiner’s modifications and all modifications as per the SDNPA Decision Statement) complies with the legal requirements and basic conditions set out in the Localism Act 2011 and as a result of the SDNPA resolution has been made.

The Milland NDP is a part of the Development Plan of the SDNPA Local Planning Authority area as defined by the Neighbourhood Area Designation by the SDNPA on 13 June 2015.

Referendum A referendum was held on the Milland NDP on Thursday 5 May.  For more information on the Milland Neighbourhood Development Plan Referendum visit Chichester District Councils Milland Referendum page.

There was a 33.8% turnout, with the following results:

  • Yes = 89.2% (198 votes)
  • No = 10.8% (24 votes)
Decision on a Plan proposal On the 21 March 2016, the SDNPA agreed the Decision Statement for the Milland NDP. This sets out the modifications that will be made to the plan in response to the Examiner’s modifications

The Milland NDP has been modified accordingly and will proceed to referendum on Thursday 5 May 2016.

Independent Examination

The SDNPA appointed Mr John Slater as the independent Examiner of the Milland NDP. The Examiner assessed whether the Milland NDP meets certain legal requirements, known as the ‘basic conditions’ and considered representations made on the Milland NDP.

The Examiner has now issued their final report, which the SDNPA will now consider and will issue a ‘Decision Statement’ in due course setting out the actions to be taken in response to the recommendations of the Examiner.

As part of the examination of the Milland NDP, the examiner raised a number of questions for the SDNPA and Milland Parish Council
