Draft Conservation Area Character Appraisals and Management Plans
The National Park Authority, as the Local Planning Authority, is required to prepare Character Appraisals and Management Plans (CAAMPs) for the Conservation Areas within its boundaries. These are important documents in the planning system.
Character Appraisals describe the elements which contribute to the Special Character recognised by designation as a Conservation Area, whilst Management Plans set out a series of potential actions and opportunities for improving the area.
A consultation on the draft Slindon CAAMP is open until 11 December 2017. An electronic copy can be viewed here, and you can view paper copies at The Forge Shop & Cafe, The Spur Public House, or by arrangement with the Parish Clerk.
During consultation all comments are welcome and should be sent to HistoricBuildings@southdowns.gov.uk or in writing to The Conservation Officer, Southdowns Centre, North Street, Midhurst GU29 9DH.
