Inspiring Picnics

A walk up to Butser Hill offers 360 views of the farmland and rolling downs before you head back down to Queen Elizabeth Country Park to enjoy home-grown vegetable soup.

The Seven Sisters Country Park is great for cycling or strolling along the Cuckmere River. Watch out for ringed plovers, redshanks and other wild birds stealing your lunch!

Look out for spring and summer events that let you immerse yourself in the best of the landscape and indulge your hobby at the same time. Check out the events at Glyndebourne and at Goodwood.

An afternoon kite flying on the ridges near Ditchling Beacon with views over the Downs and plenty of breeze is great fun, just don’t fall asleep counting all the South Downs sheep!
