  • Independent Member of the Governance Committee

    The Governance Committee has a key role to ensure good governance of the Authority by overseeing and reviewing its arrangements for audit, financial control and risk management and by promoting high standards of conduct. As an independent member of the Committee you will work with the Authority Members and Officers and contribute to the work of the committee to ensure robust governance for the Authority.

  • Development Management Officers

    As Development Management Officer you will have a caseload of the most significant planning applications in the South Downs National Park. You will also contribute to the development of local plan policy, design briefs, planning studies and input into other related planning activities from a development management perspective, including enforcement cases.

    1x Permanent and 1x Temporary for 9-12 months

  • Development Management Lead

    As Development Management Lead you will manage two case officers in the in-house team and take on a small case load of the most significant applications yourself. You will work with the Development Manager to develop best practice in the way we work both in our in-house team and our partner authorities.

    37 hours per week

  • Assistant Planning Officer

    The South Downs National Park offers a unique and fulfilling environment in which to develop a planning career. As Assistant Planning Officer you will have a case load of householder and other planning applications in the Arun, Wealden, Brighton and Hove and Eastbourne areas of the South Downs National Park where the Authority delivers the planning service directly.

  • Assistant Enforcement Officer

    As Assistant Enforcement Officer you will investigate complaints about buildings and uses of land which may have needed planning permission. You will work under the supervision of the SDNPA Enforcement Officer and develop a caseload of investigations commensurate with your experience.
