Stedham with Iping Parish Council are preparing a Neighbourhood Development Plan for Stedham with Iping.

Plan made (adopted) | The Stedham with Iping NDP (Submission Plan incorporating the Examiner’s modifications and all modifications as per the SDNPA Decision Statement) complies with the legal requirements and basic conditions set out in the Localism Act 2011 and as a result of the SDNPA Planning Committee resolution (Agenda Item 11) on 10 June 2021 has been made.
The Stedham with Iping NDP is a part of the Development Plan of the SDNPA Local Planning Authority area as defined by the Neighbourhood Area Designation by the SDNPA on 1 August 2017. Referendum |
On Thursday 6 May 2021 a referendum took place on a neighbourhood development plan in the Parish of Stedham with Iping. The results are as follows: Turnout: 44% Rejected Ballot Papers: 3 (1%) The Referendum version of the Neighbourhood Development Plan is below:

Decision on a Plan Proposal | On the 16 January 2020 the SDNPA Planning Committee agreed the Decision Statement for the Stedham with Iping NDP. This sets out the modifications that will be made to the Neighbourhood Plan in response to the Examiner’s recommendations.
The Stedham with Iping NDP will be modified accordingly and will proceed to referendum on 6 May 2021, subject to any changes in the Covid-19 guidance from the Government. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Stedham with Iping NDP referendum in May 2020 was cancelled and the vote postponed in accordance with Government guidance |
Independent Examination (Examiner’s Report) |
The Examiner has issued his final report, which the SDNPA will consider. A “Decision Statement” will be prepared setting out the actions to be taken in response to the recommendations of the Examiner. The Decision Statement will be presented to the SDNPA Planning Committee on 16 January 2020. |

The SDNPA appointed Nigel McGurk MRTPI as Independent Examiner of the Stedham with Iping NDP. The Examiner will assess whether the Stedham with Iping NDP meets certain legal requirements, known as ‘basic conditions’ and will consider the representations made on the Stedham with Iping NDP.
