Fernhurst Neighbourhood Plan
Fernhurst Parish Council has prepared a Neighbourhood Development Plan (NDP) for Fernhurst. Further details of the NDP preparation are available on the Fernhurst Parish Council website.

| Plan “Made” (Adoption) | The Fernhurst NDP – i.e., the Submission Plan incorporating the Examiner’s modifications and all modifications as per the SDNPA Decision Statement – complies with the legal requirements and basic conditions set out in the Localism Act 2011 and, as a result of the SDNPA Planning Committee resolution on 14 April 2016, has been made.
The made Fernhurst NDP is a part of the Development Plan for the South Downs National Park Authority (SDNPA) area as defined by the Neighbourhood Area designated by the SDNPA on 13 September 2012. The made Fernhurst NDP can be viewed at the following locations:

| Referendum |
A referendum was held on the Fernhurst NDP on 02 March 2016. Further information on the referendum is available on the Chichester District Council website. There was a 18.2% turnout, with the following results:

| Decision Statement | The South Downs National Park Authority (SDNPA) agreed the Decision Statement for the Fernhurst NDP on 12 November 2015. This sets out the modifications that will be made to the Plan in response to the Examiner’s recommendations.
The Fernhurst NDP was modified accordingly and proceeded to referendum on 02 March 2016. |
| Independent Examination |
The South Downs National Park Authority (SDNPA) appointed Ms Deborah McCann BSc MRICS MRTPI Dip Arch Con Dip LD as Independent Examiner of the Fernhurst NDP. The Examiner assessed whether the Fernhurst NDP met certain legal requirements known as “basic conditions”, and considered all representations made on the Fernhurst NDP. The Examiner issued their final report in September 2015. |
| Regulation 16 – Submission consultation |
The South Downs National Park Authority (SDNPA) published the submitted Fernhurst Neighbourhood Development Plan (NDP) – in accordance with Part 5 of the Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations 2012 – for consultation between 02 May and 13 June 2014. | Regulation 15 – Submission | Fernhurst Parish Council (FPC) submitted the Fernhurst Neighbourhood Development Plan (NDP), and its accompanying documents, to the South Downs National Park Authority (SDNPA) on 25 April 2014. The following submission checklist was completed by the SDNPA. |
| Regulation 14 – Pre-submission consultation | Fernhurst Parish Council (FPC) undertook a pre-submission consultation on the Draft Fernhurst Neighbourhood Development Plan (NDP) between 03 June and 21 July 2013. The SDNPA response to the consultation is set out in the planning committee report dated 08 August 2013. |
| Designated Neighbourhood Area | The SDNPA designated the Fernhurst Neighbourhood Area on 13 September 2012 following an application from Fernhurst Parish Council. |
| Proposed Neighbourhood Area | A consultation on an application to designate the Fernhurst Neighbourhood Area was held from 15 June to 03 August 2012. |
