Petersfield Neighbourhood Plan

Petersfield Town Council have prepared a Neighbourhood Development Plan for Petersfield. The plan was ‘made’ in January 2016.

Plan ‘made’ (adopted)	The Petersfield NDP complies with the legal requirements and basic conditions set out in the Localism Act 2011, and as a result of the SDNPA Planning Committee resolution of 21 January 2016 has been ‘made’. Made (adopted) Petersfield NDP* Site Allocations and Supporting Maps* Petersfield Neighbourhood Plan modification statement* This is a modified version of the Petersfield Neighbourhood Plan (PNP). The PNP was modified in January 2018. Details of the modification can be found in the modification statement. The Petersfield NDP is a part of the Development Plan of the SDNPA Local Planning Authority area as defined at the Neighbourhood Area Designation by the SDNPA on 13 September 2012. Referendum	A referendum was held on the Petersfield NDP on Thursday 19th November 2015. There was a 26% turnout, with the following results: Yes = 83% (2,258 votes) No = 17% (455 votes)
Decision on a plan proposal	On the 10 September 2015, the SDNPA agreed the Decision Statement for the Petersfield NDP. This sets out the modifications that will be made to the plan in response to the Examiner’s modifications Petersfield Neighbourhood Plan Decision Statement The Petersfield NDP was modified accordingly and proceeded to referendum on 19 November 2015
Independent Examination	The SDNPA appointed Mr Christopher Lockhart-Mummery QC as the Independent Examiner of the Petersfield Neighbourhood Plan (PNP). The Examiner assessed whether the PNP meets certain legal requirements, known as the ‘basic conditions’ and considered representations made on the PNP. A public hearing was held on 4 June 2015 and an accompanied site visit took place on 5 June 2015. The Examiner issued the final report in July 2015. Publicising the Plan Proposal	The SDNPA published the submitted PNP for consultation from 5 Feb to 16 March 2015. Consultation on proposed Neighbourhood Area	A consultation on an application to designate Petersfield Neighbourhood Area was held from 15 June to 3 August 2012
