Kirdford Neighbourhood Plan

Kirdford Parish Council are preparing a Neighbourhood Development Plan for Kirdford. Further details of the neighbourhood plan preparation are available at the Kirdford Parish Council website.

Plan ‘made’ (adopted)	The Kirdford NDP (Submission Plan incorporating the Examiner’s modifications and all modifications as per the SDNPA Decision Statement) complies with the legal requirements and basic conditions set out in the Localism Act 2011 and as a result of the SDNPA Planning Committee resolution on 12 June 2014 has been made. Made Kirdford NDP The Kirdford NDP is a part of the Development Plan of the SDNPA Local Planning Authority area as defined by the Neighbourhood Area Designation by the SDNPA on 13 September 2013. The made Kirdford NDP can be viewed at the following locations: South Downs Centre, North Street, Midhurst, GU29 9DH Kirdford Village Stores, Russett Place, Kirdford, RH14 0QQ Chichester District Council, East Pallant House, Chichester, PO19 1TY
Referendum	A referendum was held on the Kirdford NDP on 1 May 2014. For more information on the referendum visit Chichester District Council’s Referendum page. Kirdford NDP – incorporating post examination modifications (referendum version) There was a 44% turnout, with the following results Yes = 94.8% (344 votes) No = 5.2% (19 votes)
Decision on the Plan Proposal	Chichester District Council agreed the Decision Statement for the Kirdford NDP. This sets out the modifications that will be made to the plan in response to the Examiner’s modifications Decision statement The Kirdford NDP has been modified accordingly and will proceed to referendum on 1 May 2014
Independent Examination	Chichester District Council appointed Janet L Cheesley as the independent Examiner of the Kirdford NDP. The Examiner assessed whether the Kirdford NDP meets certain legal requirements, known as the ‘basic conditions’ and considered representations made on the Kirdford NDP. The Examiner has now issued their final report, which Chichester District Council will now consider and will issue a ‘Decision Statement’ in due course setting out the actions to be taken in response to the recommendations of the Examiner. Publicising the Plan Proposal	Chichester District Council published the submitted Kirdford NDP for consultation from 19 July to 2 September 2013. Submission of Plan Proposals	Kirdford Parish Council submitted the Kirdford NDP and accompanying documents to Chichester District Council in July 2013.
Pre-submission consultation on the plan	Kirdford Parish Council carried out their Pre Submission consultation from 12 December to 4 February 2013
Designated Neighbourhood Area	The SDNPA designated the area of Kirdford Neighbourhood Area within the South Downs National Park on 13 September 2012 following an application from Kirdford Parish Council. Designated Neighbourhood Area
Consultation on the proposed Neighbourhood Area	A consultation on an application to designate Kirdford Neighbourhood Area was held from 15 June to 3 August 2012.
