Guidance on Parking for Residential and Non-Residential Development Supplementary Planning Document (SPD), also known as the Parking SPD
South Downs National Park Authority (SDNPA) has adopted a Parking Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) – full title, Guidance on Parking for Residential and Non-Residential Development Supplementary Planning Document (SPD).
The SPD provides further guidance to support the implementation of South Downs Local Plan policy SD22 Parking Provision.

The adopted SPD is a material consideration in the determination of planning applications.
The SDNPA consulted on a draft of the SPD from 24 September to 19 November 2020. The SDNPA considered the responses received during the consultation and amended the SPD as considered necessary. The SDNPA prepared a Consultation Statement in accordance with Regulations 12 (a) and (b) of the Town and Country Planning (Local Planning) (England) Regulations 2012 (as amended). Prior to adoption, SDNPA made available for comment from 4 February to 18 March 2021 the amended draft SPD and Consultation Statement.
The SDNPA screened the draft SPD to determine if further action was required in relation to Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) and Habitats Regulation Assessment (HRA).
