Minerals & Waste Enforcement
Minerals and waste development management is part of the planning system and is subject to the same enforcement powers. We are the Planning Enforcement Authority for minerals and waste development across the whole of the South Downs National Park and all complaints regarding minerals development or operations in the National Park should come directly to us.
The District and Borough councils do have responsibility for some waste matters such as fly-tipping, however, any waste queries concerning the importation of soil, such as bunding or land raising, should start with us. Other waste complaints that the SDNP will investigate are those in connection with waste management facilities, which can include waste treatment facilities such as sewerage works and the disposal of waste to land, recycling facilities, waste transfer stations and composting facilities.
Complaints for which can be made using the on-line form.
