Airsports

With it’s steep rolling hills, the South Downs National Park is one of the best places in the UK for airsports, including paragliding and hang gliding.

If looking to try the sport for the first time, there are a number of British Hang Gliding & Paragliding Association (BHPA) schools that offer everything from half-day tandem flights to multi-day trainings to become a solo pilot.

However, if you want to watch the action without getting involved, Mount Caburn and Devil’s Dyke, both in East Sussex, are major local centres for enthusiasts.

Paragliders and hang gliders should always fly with the landowners permission and always in the optimal conditions.
