The Common Touch

The Common Touch

08 April 2024

10.05 to 13.00

This walk is part of the new Hampshire Community Rail Partnership Rail 2 Trail Walking Festival between 6-14 April 2024. The area between Guildford and Petersfield is rich in heathland: a precious and endangered lowland habitat. This linear walk between Liphook and Haslemere follows both the Sussex Border Path and Serpent Trail across three commons – first Stanley then Linchmere and finally Marley – before descending into the Camel Valley. En route, there will be a detour to visit Linchmere church. The number of benches in the churchyard all facing southeast towards Henley and Older Hill, give a good indication of the quality of coffee-time view on offer.
