Our annual celebration of the natural world. A great family day out! Throughout the day there will be a range of activities led by our environmental experts, from pond dipping, to bug hunting to bird spotting walks! We welcome nature and conservation groups from across the area who help visitors connect with nature. Each stallholder brings an exciting activities to the event, enabling children to collect stamps as they explore the stallholder trail.
Participants in Nature Day include: Alton Natural History Society Hampshire, Bat Group Hampshire & Isle of Wight Amphibian and Reptile Group – also offering ‘pond creature viewings’ on the day; Hampshire & Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust; Naturetrek (also offering birding walks on the day); River Wey Trust RSPB Selborne Landscape Partnership Woodland Trust (also offering walks on the day); Dr Terry Biddington, from the University of Winchester, helping visitors discover the wonders of soil and earthworms.
All children (under 16) go free to Nature Day and entrance for adults is £9, this includes admission to the house and gardens. Tickets are available on the door or online
