Book your place through Eventbrite

As one of the events for our annual ReNature festival, join Seven Sisters Country Park/Sussex Heritage Coast Writer-in-Residence Alinah Azadeh, Georgina Aboud from the We Hear You Now audio series project and a Seven Sisters Ranger for a creative workshop and gentle climate tour around the Cuckmere valley. Together we will explore our relationship to climate change and landscape through creative writing prompts and storytelling.

Through readings, deep listening and witnessing of this unique site as a space for ‘Renaturing’, we will bring our diverse understanding of change and visions of adaptation, linking local climate action with climate justice and global issues affecting us all, to imagine new realities and share current ones.

This is an inclusive workshop for the climate active, the climate curious and the climate anxious, particularly aimed at younger participants 16-30 years old.

Accessibility and Information about the Route: The terrain can in parts be a little steep and uneven, so the walk itself is not fully accessible to those with limited mobility. We will use the Pump Barn near the Visitor Centre at the start and during the workshop time, for those with access needs on the day or in the case of very poor weather. Participants walking with us will need to wear sturdy shoes or boots suitable for walking, along with water, hat, sunscreen and a raincoat as fine weather cannot be guaranteed. If you wish, please also bring a sitting mat or small blanket as the ground may be damp.

Water is available on-site so please bring a water bottle for free refills. No plastic water bottles are sold. There is a Grab-and-go for refreshments on site and a small Café. Some refreshments will be supplied by SDNPA on the day.

For access needs, BSL and other special needs , please contact the eventbookings@southdowns.gov.uk
