Bonkers For Conkers 2024. Are We Bonkers? Yes… For Conkers! We are reaching out to all serious sports men, women, families, children (and their dogs) to be part of our annual daredevil contest of skill and danger: Bonkers For Conkers. Join the event at the beautiful ‘brewery in a barn’ on the Cowdray Estate, on Sunday 13th October 2023 from 1pm – 6.30pm. Registration for Bonkers For Conkers 2024 will open soon. Lesley co-owner of the brewery says, “We’re thrilled to be bringing this annual event to the local community. It’s always lots of fun and well-supported, with fantastic food, wonderful friendly people and of course, tasty award-winning ales”.
There will be 2 competitions to find the junior (8 to 15 years) and senior conker champions of 2023. World championship rules apply… and all conkers are provided by the organisers. This is serious (& very fun) stuff! There will also be (of course!) an excellent bar with our award winning ales and traditional local fare available fom the Cocking Farm Shop (including Oxford Black and Sandy Hog Roast, delectable vegetarian quiche and homemade apple cake), live music from Wavy Davy Band, Victory Morris Dancers, family games, fabulous stalls, plus gifts, a raffle (with HUGE prizes!), face painting, steam engine rides and more. It’s free to come along to the event, but please give generously, as we’ll be collecting for Chestnut Tree House Hospice Care Sussex. There will be a chance to find out about the amazing work at the hospice from Charlotte and Mary, who are both Community Fundraisers. So… who will win the coveted Langham Cup or get their name on the treasured junior trophy shield? Good luck (and be Bonkers For Conkers) one and all!
