The date is 1924 and Stansted House is a flurry of activity in preparation for the traditional Servants Ball. But the staff need some help…! From the minute you arrive you’ll step back in time and be immersed in an early 20th Century Christmas. Begin your evening by sipping on a wonderful cocktail in the State Rooms before rolling your sleeves up and getting in the festive spirit with hands on duties including learning how to make a classic cocktail, getting ready – and of course playing – some wonderful parlour games in the Servant’s Hall and helping the staff with dinner service in the grand Dining Room. Be prepared for the fun hustle and bustle of a traditional Mansion at Christmas. As a reward the cook has drinks and mince pies ready for you in the Victorian Kitchen. But only after you have given her at least one Christmas Carol! This is an opportunity to be immersed into a Christmas straight out of Gosford Park or Downton Abbey. The experience will last approximately 90 minutes and we welcome guests to dress in the style of the 1920’s if they wish.
