Countryside Code

We want you to enjoy your visit to the South Downs and help to keep the area a special place. You can do this by following the Countryside Code.

There are 5 sections of the Code dedicated to helping members of the public respect, protect and enjoy the countryside. These are:

Be safe, plan ahead and follow any signs.
Leave gates and property as you find them.
Protect plants and animals and take your litter home.
Keep dogs under close control, especially near farm animals and during nesting season.
Consider other people.
