It’s not just about farming you know! Since the middle ages falconry has been practised throughout the South Downs, so why not try your hand on a woodland walk with a Harris Hawk at West Sussex Falconry?

Take things a step further and hunt, gather and forage for everything you eat at the Treehouse HQ of Huntergathercook  (this experience may not be for the squeamish!)

Coombes Farm, a working farm by the River Adur, run farm tours and make a special event of lambing every spring.

Stop by the Stansted Park Farm Shop in Rowlands Castle for seasonal food from the South Downs and enjoy wood fired pizza, using locally sourced toppings and sustainable ash and hazel wood from the Stansted Forestry.

As the leaves start to fall and autumn mists appear, why not join SO Sussex on a mushroom walk, hunting for ceps, chanterelle and hedgehog fungi?
