Call for Sites 2022

Call for Sites 2022

As part of the Local Plan Review we have launched a new “Call for Sites”.

The Call for Sites will run from Wednesday 10 August until 23:59 on Wednesday 28 September.

This is an early opportunity for individuals, landowners, town and parish councils and developers to suggest sites within the National Park for development and offsetting up to 2040.

The site suggestions received by us will be used to inform the preparation of the Local Plan Review.

The Call for Sites will help to identify sites to be considered in the Land Availability Assessment (LAA). The LAA will not determine whether a site should be allocated for development.

However, it will help to identify a potential pool of sites for further consideration.

This will help to inform future decisions on allocations in the Local Plan Review or in Neighbourhood Development Plans.

What type of sites are being sought in this Call for Sites?

This call for sites is different from previous ones in that we are asking for a much wider range of sites as follows:

  • New homes
  • 100% affordable homes
  • Specialised care (C2) for example for older persons
  • Self and custom build homes
  • Permanent and transit accommodation for Gypsies & Travellers and travelling showpeople
  • Economic development including offices, manufacturing and warehousing
  • Renewable energy (non-domestic scale)
  • Biodiversity Net Gain offsetting
  • Nutrient offsetting

How will the sites be assessed?

Sites will be considered in the Land Availability Assessment For more information, please see the LAA Methodology below.

Previously submitted sites

If you have made submissions to previous Calls for Sites we recommend that you complete a new form(s) to ensure that we have the most up to date information on the availability and deliverability of sites for all types of development.

If your site was  previously assessed in the Strategic Housing Land Availability Assessment, please provide details of its reference number.

More information on the previous SHLAA can be found here.

How do I submit a site?
