Committees
There are 3 committees within South Downs National Park Authority, these are:
Planning Committee
The statutory planning authority for the South Downs National Park.
Policy & Resources Committee
The role of the Policy & Resources Committee is to discuss the Authority’s budget, business plan, to approve appropriate resource plans, to agree the submissions of bids for grant funding, and the arrangements for application of grant funds received, to monitor and review the delivery of the Management Plan, ensure good governance of the Authority by overseeing and reviewing its arrangements for audit, financial control and risk managements any by promoting high standards of conduct.
Appointment Management & Standards Committee
The role of the Appointment Management & Standards Committee is to manage all aspects of the Chief Executives contractual employment relationship with the Authority. This includes the terms and conditions of employment, remuneration and performance. This committee is also responsible for recruitment, selection and appointment of the Chief Executive
Procedures at Authority and Committee meetings are regulated by the Standing Orders.
All Authority meetings are held at South Downs Centre, North Street, Midhurst, GU29 9DH. Directions to the South Downs Centre.
Members of the public have the opportunity to participate at committee meetings.
