National Nest Box Week

National Nest Box Week

February 12, 2016

National Nest Box Week takes place each year from 14 to 21 February to encourage more people to put up nest boxes in their local area.

For the past two years South Downs National Park rangers have been working with local farmers and ecologists on ‘Project BOB’ – installing new barn owl boxes and monitoring existing boxes for barn owls.

We love seeing how happy farmers are to hear that barn owls thriving on their land.  Here’s a little film that Ed Press from Brays Farm made about their barn owls last year.

Not everyone has the right conditions for barn owls but there may be other birds that you could make a home for in your local area.
