Details

Sitting on the Eastern edge of the National Park, the South Downs National Park Authority owns the Seven Sisters Country Park. This iconic landscape is already immensely popular and our future plans are to ensure nature conservation for future generations, whilst delivering the first class visitor experience this much loved place deserves.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Visitor Services Manager to lead on the delivery of high-quality visitor engagement whilst also ensuring a commercially viable business. Our aspirations are high, and the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of our key objectives.

Although your focus will be at the visitor centre and food and beverage outlets, your remit will cover the whole country park.  You will be responsible for leading the customer facing Visitor Services staff and volunteer team, so experience of people management is essential, as is a strong knowledge of running retail and food & beverage outlets with a focus on sourcing local products.

You will develop an exciting programme of activities to engage a diverse audience with nature conservation and the special qualities of the country park, whilst also meeting commercial objectives. Working with both in-house and external partners you must be able to communicate and build relationships with all stakeholders.

You will work closely with our central communications team to create quality and inspiring marketing and online communications for the Seven Sisters Country Park brand.

You must be a self-starter, flexible, committed and willing to “get stuck in” to solve issues across the whole project.  The working pattern for this post includes regular weekend and bank holiday duty cover on a rota basis and working longer hours between April and October with a shorter week for the remainder of the year.
