Big Earl wins People’s Choice in South Downs photo competition

Big Earl the bull has won the People’s Choice vote in the South Downs National Park Photo Competition for Ivan Talboys from Newhaven.

In his second year as a prize-winner Ivan scooped more than 25% of the votes. Rhian White from Brighton came second for her brilliantly timed shot silhouetting a playful dog jumping in front of the setting sun.

“I was out on a walk with a new camera,” says Ivan. “It was a long 10 miler around the Ouse valley and I encountered Big Earl on the Southdowns Way over looking Swanborough. He was enjoying the early autumn sun and was gracious enough to let me in for a close up.”
