Meet the ChaMP Team

Meet the ChaMP Team

Last month ChaMP partners got together at Pyecombe for a partnership development and planning day.

We are shaping  ChaMP as an exemplar of good collaboration between organisations, and are lucky to have a diverse range of technical skills, capability and experience. There was excellent  energy and optimism in the room on the day, and it was great to see everyone working together so well. There is  a strong level of commitment among partners (Southern Water, the University of Brighton, the Environment Agency, Brighton & Hove City Council and the South Downs National Park Authority), and we came up with a framework of common strategic themes and a list of actions – all of which will inform how we shape the partnership’s future and raise our aspirations, working together to protect Brighton & Hove’s chalk aquifer and the drinking water it provides.

The session was expertly facilitated by Toby Buckle, and was held at Pyecombe Golf Course, Brighton. Head Greenkeeper Simon Wells has significantly reduced the amount of chemicals used to manage the site through the use of compost teas to improve soil health; acting as fungicide, insecticide and fertiliser as well as promoting biodiversity on the site.
