Bramber Neighbourhood Plan

Bramber Parish Council are preparing a Neighbourhood Development Plan for Bramber. Further details of the neighbourhood plan preparation are available at the Bramber Parish Council Website.

Referendum Recently the government updated the Neighbourhood Planning Regulations on Referendums: the update can be found here. Part 3 Regulation 13 states that any Neighbourhood Plan Referendum that would have been held during the relevant period affected, will be held in 2021. The Regulations state that NDPs that have undergone examination but are awaiting referendum can be given significant weight in the determination of planning applications.
Decision Statement In August 2020, Horsham District published the Decision Statement for the Bramber NDP. This sets out the changes that will made to the plan in response to the Examiner’s modifications.

The Bramber NDP has been modified accordingly and will proceed to referendum.

Independent Examination Horsham District Council appointed Mr Andrew Ashcroft as Independent Examiner of the Bramber NDP. The Examiner published his final report in July 2020.

Regulation 16 Consultation Horsham District Council undertook the Regulation 16 consultation on the submission Bramber Neighbourhood Plan. The consultation ran for 9 weeks from 16 March to 18 May 2020.

The SDNPA made the following comments during the consultation:

Pre submission consultation (Regulation 14) Bramber Parish Council undertook a Pre-Submission consultation on their draft Neighbourhood Plan.  The consultation ran from 21 September to 2 November 2019.

The SDNPA made the following comments during the consultation:

Designated Neighbourhood Area The SDNPA designated part of Bramber Neighbourhood Area on 26th February 2018 following an application from Bramber Parish Council.

Neighbourhood area applications set out the proposed area in which a parish or town council (or ‘neighbourhood forum’) intend to use the neighbourhood planning powers arising from the Localism Act.

Horsham DC and the South Downs National Park Authority has received an application from Bramber Parish Council for a neighbourhood area to be designated.
