Extensions and Replacement Dwellings Technical Advice Note (TAN)

This Extensions and Replacement Dwellings Technical Advice Note (TAN) has been produced to guide applicants and decision-makers in interpreting relevant policies in the South Downs Local Plan. It relates to proposals for domestic extensions, outbuildings and annexes, and to proposals for replacement dwellings.

The Local Plan should be read as a whole. However, this TAN has been produced specifically to assist in the interpretation of the following SDLP policies:

Policy SD30: Replacement Dwellings
Policy SD31: Extensions to existing dwellings, and provision of annexes and outbuildings

The TAN was updated in October 2023.
