Getting here

First catch your bus or train, cycle or walk to Lewes. If you need to drive to Lewes, give your car a rest on arrival and enjoy exploring the area car-free.

Train

Lewes Station is 0.2 miles from the main shopping area.

  • From London Victoria regularly each hour, a direct train takes just over an hour.
  • From Brighton at regular intervals each hour and takes 15 minutes.
  • From Newhaven Harbour every half hour and takes around 12 minutes.
  • From Ashtead International every hour and takes 90 minutes.

Bus

Lewes bus station is in the centre of town, opposite Waitrose.

Cycle or Walk

National Trail  – The South Downs Way is 3 miles from Lewes, so you can reach the town centre on foot or cycle.

REMEMBER

Look up public transport timetables online before setting off on your journey and double-check weekend and Bank Holiday schedules.
