A referendum was held on the Rottingdean NDP on 9 February 2024. Further information on the referendum is available on the Brighton and Hove City Council website.

There was a 20.94% turnout, with the following results:

• Yes = 89% (512 votes)
• No = 11% (61 votes)
• Rejected = 2 votes

Brighton and Hove City Council (B&HCC) agreed the Decision Statement for the Rottingdean NDP on 14 December 2023.

The report recommended that the Neighbourhood Plan should, subject to the recommended modifications, proceed to referendum.

Brighton and Hove City Council appointed Mr Derek Stebbing as the Independent Examiner of the Rottingdean NDP.

The Examiner issued his report on 18 October 2023.

Brighton and Hove City Council has published the submitted Rottingdean Neighbourhood Development Plan (NDP) for consultation from 2 February 2023 to 16 March 2023.

Rottingdean Parish Council are currently consulting on their Regulation 14 Neighbourhood Development Plan. The consultation will run from 14 February – 9 April 2021.
