The Newhaven NDP complies with the legal requirements and basic conditions set out in the Localism Act 2011, and as a result of the SDNPA Planning Committee resolution of 14 November 2019 has been ‘made’. Newhaven Neighbourhood Development Plan – Referendum version The Newhaven NDP is a part of the Development Plan of the SDNPA Local Planning Authority area as defined by the Neighbourhood Area Designation by the SDNPA in 2013. The made Newhaven NDP can be viewed at the following location: South Downs Centre, North Street, Midhurst, GU29 9DH |

Referendum |
On Thursday 10 October 2019 a referendum was held on a Neighbourhood Development Plan for Newhaven. The results of the referendum can be found here. For more information, please visit the Lewes District Council NDP page. |

Decision Statement |
In July 2019, Lewes District Council published the Decision Statement for the Newhaven NDP. This sets out the changes that will made to the plan in response to the Examiner’s modifications. The Newhaven NDP has been modified accordingly and will proceed to referendum on Thursday 10 October 2019. |

Examination |
Lewes District Council appointed Mr Tony Burton as the Independent Examiner of the Newhaven NDP. The Examiner published his final report in June 2018. |

Publicising the Plan Proposal |
Lewes District Council published the submitted Newhaven Neighbourhood Plan for consultation from 7 February to 21 March 2019. Further details of the consultation are available on the Lewes DC website. The SDNPA made the following representation on the submission Newhaven NDP: |

Pre-submission consultation on the plan |
Newhaven Town Council carried out their pre-submission consultation on their draft neighbourhood plan from Wednesday 3rd May until 5pm on Wednesday 21st June 2017. Details of the plan and supporting documents are available on the Newhaven Town Council Neighbourhood Plan website. |
