Findon Neighbourhood Plan
Findon Parish Council have prepared a Neighbourhood Development Plan for Findon. Details of the neighbourhood plan preparation are available at the Findon Parish Council website

Plan Review Independent Examination |
The SDNPA appointed Mr Robert Bryan MRTPI as independent Examiner of the updated Findon NDP. The Examiner has now issued his final report, which the SDNPA will consider. A ‘Decision Statement’ will be prepared shortly setting out the actions to be taken in response to the recommendations of the Examiner. |

Plan Review Publicising the Plan Proposal |
Findon Parish Council submitted the Findon NDP Update 1 to the SDNPA for independent examination. Consultation on the submission version of the Neighbourhood Plan took place from Monday 22 July until Monday 16 September 2019. The following documents were submitted as part of the consultation:

Plan Review 2018 Pre-submission Consultation |
Findon Parish Council carried out their Pre-Submission consultation on the updated Findon Neighbourhood Plan from 23 June – 10 August 2018. Further details are available on the Parish Council website

Findon Neighbourhood Development Plan Review

Findon Parish Council as Qualifying Body for the preparation of the Findon Neighbourhood Plan have commenced a review and update of the ‘made’ Findon Neighbourhood Plan (NDP). The Findon NDP was made on 13 September 2012. The Qualifying Body initiated the review and update of their Neighbourhood Plan in July 2017. | Plan ‘made’ (adopted) 2016 | The Findon NDP (Submission Plan incorporating the Examiner’s modifications and all modifications as per the SDNPA Decision Statement) complies with the legal requirements and basic conditions set out in the Localism Act 2011 and as a result of the SDNPA Planning committee resolution on the 8 December 2016 has been made.
The Findon NDP is a part of the Development Plan of the SDNPA Local Planning Authority area as defined by the Neighbourhood Area Designation by the SDNPA on 13 September 2012. The made Findon NDP can be viewed at the following locations:

Referendum 2016 |
A referendum was held on the Findon NDP on Thursday 3 November 2016. For more information on the referendum please visit the Arun District Council website. The Referendum version of the Findon Neighbourhood Plan can be found here
There was a 25.5% turnout, with the following result:

| Decision on a Plan Proposal | On 8 September 2016, the SDNPA’s Planning Committee agreed the Decision Statement for the Findon NDP. This sets out the modifications that will be made to the plan in response to the Examiner’s modifications.
The Findon NDP has been modified accordingly and will proceed to referendum. |
| Independent Examination |
The SDNPA has appointed Mr John Slater as the Independent Examiner of the Findon Neighbourhood Development Plan. The Examiner will assess whether the Findon Neighbourhood Development Plan meets certain legal requirements, known as the ‘basic conditions’ and consider the representations made on the Findon Neighbourhood Development Plan. The Examiner has now issued their final report, which the SDNPA will now consider and will issue a ‘Decision Statement’ in due course setting out the actions to be taken in response to the recommendations of the Examiner. In response to the representations made, Findon Parish Council have suggested some amendments to the Regulation 16 version of the Plan to be considered by the Examiner: |
