Aldingbourne Neighbourhood Plan

Aldingbourne Parish Council has prepared a Neighbourhood Development Plan for Aldingbourne .  Further details of the neighbourhood plan preparation are available at the Aldingbourne Parish Council website.

 The Aldingbourne NDP complies with the legal requirements and basic conditions set out in the Localism Act 2011 and as a result of the SDNPA resolution on 8 December 2016 has been made.

Aldingbourne Made NDP

The Aldingbourne NDP is a part of the Development Plan of the SDNPA Local Planning Authority area as defined by the Neighbourhood Area Designation by the SDNPA on 13 September 2012.

The made Aldingbourne NDP can be viewed at the following locations:

  • Arun Civic Centre, Maltravers Road, Littlehampton, BN17 5LF
Referendum

A referendum was held on the Aldingbourne NDP on 18 October 2016.

There was a 23.99% turnout, with the following results

Decision on a Plan Proposal On 8 September 2016, Arun District Council agreed the Decision Statement for the Aldingbourne NDP. This sets out the modifications that will be made to the plan in response to the Examiner’s modifications

The Aldingbourne NDP has been modified accordingly and will proceed to referendum on 18 October 2016.  Information for voters is available at the Arun District Council website here

Independent Examination Arun District Council appointed John Slater as the independent Examiner of the Aldingbourne NDP. The Examiner assessed whether the Aldingbourne NDP meets certain legal requirements, known as the ‘basic conditions’ and considered representations made on the Aldingbourne NDP.  The Examiner has now issued their final report, which Arun District Council will now consider and will issue a ‘Decision Statement’ in due course setting out the actions to be taken in response to the recommendations of the Examiner.

Publicising a Plan Proposal Arun District Council have published the submitted Aldingbourne NDP for consultation from 8 June to 20 July 2016. The following documents have been submitted for consultation:

Pre-submission re-consultation on the plan Aldingbourne Parish Council carried out a Pre Submission re-consultation from 3 February to 16 March 2016

Submission of Plan Proposals Aldingbourne Parish Council submitted the Aldingbourne NDP and accompanying documents to Arun District Council.  The submission version of the plan was not considered suitable for referendum by the Independent Examiner.
