Raystede Centre for Animal Welfare

Raystede is a charity that rescues, rehabilitates and re-homes 2000 unwanted and abandoned cats, dogs, chickens and small furries every year.... We also provide long term sanctuary for horses, donkeys, tortoises and alpaca to name but a few. Our 43 acre site includes discovery dog walks and invites cyclists and walkers to discover Cafe Raystede with its freshly baked cakes, and delicious food made from fresh, local and sustainable produce. Tack Barn

The Tack Barn is our beautiful and sustainable holiday cottage, ideally located for Lewes and near the edge of the South Downs National Park.... It is tucked in woodland overlooking the pond and is kitted out with local products, making this a stylish country base for outdoor activities. There is plenty of covered, secure parking for bikes, plus relevant maps and guides in the cottage for walkers and cyclists alike.

Proper Bike Fitting

We are a small bike fit studio in Lewes. We can provide tools and advice / assistance to passing cyclists including advice on bike position for... injury prevention and comfort. We also offer a cyclist rescue service for stranded cyclists when available. We cover Lewes and Hassocks where we also have a Cycle Cafe and Bike shop.

Mr Cycles

At Mr Cycles we sell, service and repair bicycles, as well as supplying a wide range of cycling accessories from our shop which is near Seaford... train station.

National Trust – Monk’s House

Monk’s House is the home of the 20th century writers Leonard and Virginia Woolf. Walkers and cyclists can access Monk’s House off... the south downs way along the river Ouse from Southease. This comes out at our car park, where bikes can be parked. We have no tearooms facilities but we do have one outdoor toilet in our garden. National Trust members come in for free otherwise normal admission applies for both the house and garden. Subject to availability we sell water and ice cream in our shop.

Queen Elizabeth Country Park

Queen Elizabeth Country park is an attraction providing excellent facilities for both cyclists and walkers. For cyclists there are two main cycle... routes, one advanced and one for beginners, and we also have the new access route directly to Petersfield town centre and railway station. For walkers we have over 2000 acres of open access woodland to explore and sign posted routes to follow including part of the South Downs Way. Get the best of the views by walking up to Butser hill nature reserve.
