Winchester Action on the Climate Crisis (WinACC)
Winchester Action on the Climate Crisis (WinACC) works with communities and organisations to fight climate change across the whole of the Winchester District.
WinACC works with partners to:
- reduce carbon emissions from activity within Winchester District or by the goods and services we import
- increase the capacity of Winchester District to absorb carbon and generate renewable energy
- influence and help communities, organisations and nature to respond urgently to the climate crisis.
To achieve their aims, WinACC:
- Works with Hampshire County Council and Winchester City Council to take forward measures to reflect their declarations of a climate emergency.
- Campaigns for changes in national law, policy and regulation that will reduce carbon emissions.
- Works with communities and businesses to support them to take action on the climate and increase their voice for radical systemic change.
- Works in partnership with organisations to help them adopt low carbon solutions.
