Two chicks for our Barn Owls

Exciting news

Over the weekend our Barn Owl Nest box cam has picked up that two of the four eggs have hatched into very small helpless looking chicks in the Barn Owl nest box. The first chick hatched on Friday 19th May in the evening. One of our avid watchers Sara managed to catch the moment. The second chick arrived sometime yesterday evening.

With dry weather forecast for the next few days the parents will be able to take advantage of the favourable hunting conditions to bring a steady stream of food for the chicks and we should see them growing fast. Two more eggs are still to hatch and we expect these chicks to appear in the next week.
