Adopted Design Guide SPD
The South Downs National Park Authority (SDNPA) has adopted a Design Guide Supplementary Planning Document (SPD).
The SPD provides further guidance to support the implementation of South Downs Local Plan policy SD5 (Design) and other design-related Local Plan policies.

The adopted SPD is a material consideration in the determination of planning applications.
The SDNPA consulted on a draft of the SPD from 28 June to 6 September 2021. The SDNPA considered the responses received during the consultation and amended the SPD as considered necessary. The SDNPA prepared a Consultation Statement in accordance with Regulations 12 (a) and (b) of the Town and Country Planning (Local Planning) (England) Regulations 2012 (as amended). Prior to adoption, SDNPA made available for comment from 8 May to 20 June 2022 the amended draft SPD and Consultation Statement.
The SDNPA screened the draft SPD to determine if further action was required in relation to Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) and Habitats Regulation Assessment (HRA).
