Special offers on local food and drink to celebrate National Parks Week

National Parks Week 2015 runs from 27 July to Sunday 2 August and is an opportunity to celebrate everything about the UK’s family of 15 National Parks. This year the theme is ‘Landscapes of Plenty’ recognising that ‘Britain’s Breathing Places’ are not only great places to explore and enjoy but also home of some of the best produce in the country.

From artisan cheese, wild venison, micro-breweries and some of the best sparkling wines in the world, we’re very proud of the South Downs’ high-quality, sustainable food and drink. And, thanks to the new web portal www.southdownsfood.org it’s never been easier to find and enjoy it.

In celebration of our ‘Landscape of Plenty’ local businesses from the www.southdownsfood.org are enticing you to come and taste their goods with these delicious offers:

Enjoy an ice-cream with your dog

FitzcainsFitzcane’s Ice Cream Cafe is a small, dog friendly cafe in Midhurst offering more than 20 different flavours of delicious local ice cream (so far we’ve only tested three but we will get through them all by the end of the summer).

Over National Parks Week they are kindly offering you any coffee and cake together for £5 (usually around £6 depending on flavour) or a free sauce or topping on your ice cream. Quote NPWeek2015 at the till.

In the middle of the village you’ll find the Partridge Inn, a 16th Century former hunting lodge full of character and an inglenook fireplace – although hopefully you won’t be needing that this week!
