Clapham Neighbourhood Development Plan passes referendum

Clapham Neighbourhood Development Plan passes referendum

March 29, 2016

Congratulations to Clapham Parish Council and the Clapham Neighbourhood Plan Working Group who saw their Neighbourhood Development Plan (NDP) successfully pass a referendum on Thursday with 94.4% voting yes for the plan.

The Parish Council and local volunteers who formed the working group, have worked hard to involve the community as widely as possible and have prepared a plan reflective of the matters important to Clapham, its residents, community and businesses partners.

The Clapham Neighbourhood Development Plan will now help guide planning decision about Clapham and, alongside neighbourhood plans being prepared by local communities across the National Park, forms a crucial part of the development plan for the South Downs National Park.

The South Downs National Park Authority continues to work with more than 40 Neighbourhood Plan groups across the National Park. We are committed to supporting local communities within the National Park in taking a more active role in planning for the future of their own communities.
