Have you always wanted to visit the South Downs National Park, but never had the chance to?

For Discover National Parks Fortnight, we’ve teamed up with eminent wanderer Saira Niazi, who leads guided walks exploring the South Downs.

Saira, who founded Living London and shares her city wanderings in the capital, is also a big fan of nature, travelling across the country discovering the magic of the English countryside.

Saira is now offering to take three young people on an adventure they will never forget into the heart of the South Downs National Park.

The competition is open to anyone aged 18 to 25 and the prize will be an all-expenses day trip from London to the South Downs, discovering its breathtaking views, wildlife and history.

To enter:

  • Simply do a write-up of up to 200 words, answering the question “why would you love to spend a day in the South Downs National Park”. Alternatively record a short selfie video of yourself of up to two minutes.
  • Send your application, along with your full name, age, address and contact phone number, to eventbookings@southdowns.gov.uk

The deadline for applications will be midnight on Tuesday 17 May and the trip will take place in June.

The top three entries will be treated to a fabulous day-out, including meals, in the National Park.

As the theme of Discover National Parks this year is sustainable transport, the adventure starts in London and winners will be taking a train down to the South Downs with Saira (all travel expenses will be covered).

Saira says: “As great as it is to wander in the city, there’s nothing quite like fresh air, empty beaches, peace and quiet and a sense of connection to the natural world.”

If that sounds like something up your street, we’d love to hear from you!
