Celebrating and Managing Historic Buildings in the South Downs National Park

On Tuesday 14th July 2015 there will be the first Historic Buildings seminar organised by South Downs National Park Authority at the Great Barn, Sullington Manor Farm, Sullington, West Sussex. Two key themes will be discussed by expert speakers – in the morning how we can investigate and understand any one of the over 5,000 listed buildings in the National Park to inform proposals for change or adaptation. After lunch a national approach to understanding historic building stones and their quarry sites will be explored and then the evidence from West Sussex’s buildings will be presented. The day concludes with the chance to look at Sullington church’s building stones.

Sullington is a medieval gem with the survival of both the early medieval church, the manor house and a fine farmyard complex.
