Car Free Day

Car Free Day

September 21, 2016

Make the journey part of the adventure with public transport in the South Downs this Car Free Day.

The South Downs is one of the easiest National Parks to explore by bus or train, so there’s no excuses for not leaving the car at home.

Discover new trails on your bike, travel back in time at an historic house or discover cyclehow wine is made at a local vineyard. If you go by bus or train, you can enjoy tasting it too!

We are dedicated to conserving and enhancing the natural beauty, wildlife and cultural heritage of the National Park, so we work closely with Community Rail Partnerships and local bus providers to promote sustainable travel in and around the South Downs.

Last month Stagecoach launched the new 60 bus which now sports the iconic rolling hills of the South Downs and each bus features a quintessential attraction of the area- Cowdray Ruins, Weald and Downland Museum, West Dean Gardens and Chichester Cathedral.
