The Adder Dash
19 September 2026
10:30 to 14:30
The event is proposed to take place on trails in the South Downs near Lewes and will consist of two trail running races of approximately 12 km and 20 km.
It is intended to be a small, not-for-profit community event, with a maximum field of 100 runners in total across both distances. The aim is to create a low-impact trail running event that makes use of existing public rights of way and established trails in the area.
All event profits will be donated to the South Downs National Park Trust and the Amphibian and Reptile Conservation Trust, helping support conservation projects and ongoing maintenance of the South Downs landscape.
We have chosen to support the latter in particular as the race is titled “Adder Dash”, in ode to the species for which the South Downs is considered an important UK stronghold.
The event is intended to be organised with careful consideration for the environment and other trail users, with a limited participant number and a focus on responsible use of the South Downs trail network.
