We have begun work on the Local Plan Review. Members approved the commencement of the Local Plan Review at the National Park Authority Meeting on 19 May 2022.
You can view the paper here.
This will be a review and not a brand new plan.
We propose to keep the landscape led approach, ecosystem services and the development strategy of a medium level of development dispersed across the towns and villages of the National Park.
The review will give us the opportunity to address particular issues such as climate change and nature recovery, review development needs and provision figures, and allow us to address changes in national policy.
We are currently at the very beginning of the Local Plan Review, at the evidence gathering stage. We are working towards a draft plan for a Regulation 18 consultation which we anticipate will be in the Autumn of 2023.
As part of our evidence gathering work, we have launched a Call for Sites (development and offsetting sites) and a Call for Local Green Space nominations.
